Since opening our gates in 2009, we have grown from a modest boarding facility into one of the region's most respected full-service equestrian centers — hosting world-class events, transforming lives through equine therapy, and providing a true home for hundreds of horses and their people.

Sarah Mitchell
Head Trainer & Co-Founder
With over 20 years of competitive riding experience across Western and English disciplines, Sarah founded Heartland EC with a vision of creating a world-class facility that feels like family. She holds certifications from the Certified Horsemanship Association and has coached numerous regional and national champions.
James Hartley
Barn Manager
James brings 15 years of hands-on stable management experience. His meticulous attention to every horse in his care and his deep knowledge of equine nutrition and health make him the backbone of our daily operations.
Dr. Elena Vasquez
Equine Therapy Director
A licensed therapist and PATH International certified equine specialist, Dr. Vasquez leads our award-winning equine therapy programs. She holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology and has worked with veterans, children with autism, and individuals in recovery.
Tom Briggs
Events Coordinator
Tom has been organizing equestrian events for over a decade, bringing professionalism and excitement to every competition and clinic at Heartland EC. His attention to detail ensures every event runs flawlessly.
